So Far, So Good... (after a short wrestling match I eventually won)

Assembly notes---some of the bad reviews had "issues" that weren't/could have been prevented:1) Do NOT untie the rope wrapped at the base of the rope "eyes"--this is a slider used to make the loops into, essentially, slip knots. With a lot of effort (if you lack muscle like I do) you _can_ open the loops. Wiggle and pull, wiggle and pull; it helps to hold the knotted bit in one hand and work the loop open with your other hand. All four loops open this way. This allows the ropes to fit over the flanges on the spreader bar. I didn't feel like attempting another wrestling match to tighten them back up (they were not loose enough to slide back over the flanges on their own) but will go back and readjust them if necessary after the ropes have had a chance to stretch a bit.2) Yes, the hanging rope appears very short. The ropes on the chair part also seem to hold the hammock very close to the stretcher bar. They all will STRETCH when a body adds weight to it. I'm 5'7" and do *not* come close to hitting my head on the bar despite how close it appears to be.3) The chair hangs very high when new, before it has had a chance to stretch--you will likely need additional *safe* high-quality, specific hanging hardware intended for weight-bearing and swinging motions in order to bring the chair down low enough to get into. I used both the carabiner included with the chair and the one included with my chair stand, and it's still a bit high even for my long legs.4) As mentioned in other reviews, the cushions are no where near as thick as the product photos represent. Having said that, they are not uncomfortable--but extra/different cushions will help the chair hold its shape when there is no body in it.5) Feels and smells like cotton [grey chair]; I would *not* recommend keeping it outside, as the cords do not appear to have much polyester in them despite the product description, and feel like they would be prone to rotting. Some reviewers seem to have had some luck with the chair outdoors, but I would definitely beware of the possibility of mold/mildew/rot. (Will need to update this review in a year, as my chair will be used in a sunroom that gets *very* humid in summer.)Overall, more of a 4.5 stars and not bad for my first swing chair. My cats will likely be miffed I ditched the (extremely uncomfortable) lounge we can all share, but there's room for one to join me if/when they figure out how to get in it. (I'm still working on doing that gracefully myself...) This product exceeds expectations with its quality and comfort.
